I love me some Ralph Waldo Emerson. Don't you?
This quote tells me that self-acceptance is the greatest act of self-love there is. You might be saying, ‘compared to what, Keenah?’ Compared to saying, ‘I love myself,’ and then trying to people-please your way to success by denying your truth; compared to saying ‘I love myself,’ and then doubting yourself, your capabilities, and your journey; compared to saying ‘I love myself,’ and then believing other people (agent, parents, friends, spouse, teachers) know what's best for you over you knowing what's best for you. It's not a matter of cherry-picking the 'best parts' of you and hiding the rest. It's a matter of full acceptance. That's personal power.
When you say to yourself and ultimately to the world, 'I am enough. I choose to be me and who I am is more than enough' − this is when you set the world on fire.
Have you considered what not accepting all of you is costing your career and your lifestyle offstage?
If you're still reading, I'm guessing my words have hit a chord with you. You may or may not be feeling trapped and overwhelmed while simultaneously feeling so ready to set your soul on fire. How'd I do? I get it! That was me until I made the decision to live life on my terms. It was a radical act of self-love and acceptance. Then, I started gaining clarity, knowing who I really am and what I truly desire from my career and lifestyle offstage, too.
If you're ready for more clarity, you might be ready to check out The Thriving Artist Toolkit. It's an all-in-one business system explicitly designed for well-trained, talented performing artists who want greater clarity and to build brand authority to stand out in an overly saturated industry.
Much Love 💋
